The Return, The Maelstrom.I've been given many names,The Return, The Maelstrom. by Nortallica
I've been many things,
I've fought many battles,
and I've won many wars.
The world tried to claim me,
I stood poised for round two,
Glorious in my victory.
But I was defeated.
I lay in the dirt,
Wondering what happened.
Was I overcome? No.
Was I betrayed? Maybe.
And if so, by whom?
No, it was me.
I defeated myself,
The denial of my old names,
The denial of my nature,
The denial of who, and what I am.
I hear the footsteps,
The vultures are coming,
Wishing to enact the death blow in my weakened state.
The Terrible Voice,
The old names,
The old voices return.
There have always been three.
Fragmented in constant Council and dialog.
The enemies get closer,
And we agree,
No more denial,
No more fragmentation.
Time to accept what we are,
And stand as one, once again.
We rise from the dirt,
Our eyes meet those of the enemies,
The old world defeated returns,
Hoping to snatched its victory in our weakened state
The Stand, The RiseHe looked out towards tomorrows plainsThe Stand, The Rise by Nortallica
Advancing upon him came those who would destroy him
With pride in hand he turned to the world and said
"Please help me."
The world looked down upon him,
Stared him straight in the eye,
And with a thrust turned him to the ground
And simply said...
So he stood, dusted himself off and turned his back on the world
The enemies drew ever closer with each moment
To preserve his soul, his name, his heart
He would have to fight
He would have to fight, alone...
They approached, they arrived, they attacked!
He would have to stand in the darkness
He fought against those that would bring despair upon him
He fought with absolutely no chance of victory
He fought what no one else would
He fought what no one else could
Going toe to toe with the tyrants and kings
Lords of misery dispensing their vile putrescence
He stood, breathless, for one final stand
Against those greater, smarter, and better equipped
Knowing that defeat was certain he braced himself
